The struggle of neck pain and getting help

Why is neck pain such a generic sounding term? I find it so hard to get physicians to listen to me because as soon as I say neck pain I feel like they immediately think muscular and tune me out. They’re already deciding on their mind what PT they will recommend or ortho🤦🏻‍♀️. It’s frustrating as the patient but also understandable from their pov. Has anyone else had luck with getting your physician to listen beyond that first sentence? Perhaps I need to reevaluate my eginnimg point of conversation. Lol
